The End

Sadly, the New Brighton track closed after the first few meetings of 1976. The site was unused for some years, and was eventually used for housing, a playground and a sports pitch. Kirkby had also closed by this time, but in May of 1976, Trackstar started promoting meetings at Crewe Stadium. In the following years many of the drivers and spectators travelled down the M6 to excellent floodlit meetings on Saturday evenings.
